On Wednesday, November 6, a few of us went just down the street from school to St. Mary’s Gardens to share talents and enliven a group of 25 seniors. Our students performed their hip hop dance, clowning, a juggling act, and their rolling globe routine. After the show, each of us lead a low-impact physical warm up including wrist and arm exercises, facial expressions, and isolation exercises. Our stars spent some time visiting with the residents afterwards also. On reflection afterward, “DJ” shared that his favorite part of the trip was actually getting to visit and get to know the seniors afterward the show.
We are very proud of our students for their service in giving back to our neighborhood by sharing their gifts!
